We are excited about the arrival of the new i-gotU GT1800AW personal tracking device due for release in late August 2011 . This small unit measuring 69 * 48 * 19 mm and weighing only 71 grams has a multitude of uses some of which we have listed below and will offer not only personal security at a low cost but will allow users to locate personal items in seconds to ease any fears of items being lost or stolen, and even if they are stolen you can track their whereabouts instantly on Google maps with real time tracking.

Some of the uses that we can think of are:......

Vehicles: Lets face it at the prices we pay today for our vehicles (upwards of $40 - $50 thousand dollars) or more and the cost of running them with fuel costs and insurance it is of vital importance that we know where they are at any given time. Wether it be in a private parking lot, train station car park, our own premises or elsewhere it would be great if we could send an SMS to our GPS location device which would instantly send back to us an SMS giving a specific GPS co-ordinate as to it's current location which we can then view on Google maps to advise us that it is where it's suppose to be. If for some reason it is not where its supposed to be we would have specific information to be able to advise police of it's current position thus allowing it to be recovered hopefully before any damage is done. This is done by simply placing the unit somewhere in the car ( preferably out of sight ) either turned on or off. If the unit is turned off it can be activated by an SMS from your mobile phone to send the required GPS co-ordinate back to us of it's current location or if it is turned ON it can be set to record a current GPS location at a given time (facility to set from 1 - 60 second intervals) which is recorded and sent back to your computer or mobile phone to log its position every time it sends a signal. If the vehicle is not moving the units automatically turns itself OFF to extend the battery life and vice versa if the vehicle is set in motion it will automatically activate and start sending GPS co-ordinates to your computer for real time tracking on Google maps. So if is not supposed to be moving your are notified immediately giving you a real time tracking information of it's exact whereabouts.

In addition your device can be preset with what is called Geo mapping where you can log in details of a specific mapped area that the vehicle is supposed to remain within, say the major city and surrounding suburbs. If for some reason the car is then driven outside of this Geo mapped area the device will send an alert to your computer advising that it has left the designated area and giving you a real time GPS location of it's current position. This attribute is advantages if you have loaned your vehicle or hired it for a specific trip to advise if it has remained within the designated area for it's intended use.

The device will also record and relay to your computer details of speed, time etc which would be great if someone is allowed to borrow the car to keep an eye on them making sure that it s being used in the manner you would expect, it would be illegal to track people in this manner without their consent, however if they are made aware of the fact that you have a unit of this nature installed in your vehicle and of it's capabilities you would be protected against any prosecution for the use of such products. There always remains the possibility of avoiding the situation of having Police knocking at your door at 2.00am in  the morning to inform you that the vehicle has been involved in an accident and the ramifications of such an event.

With respect to company vehicles they can be tracked at all times so that you know that they are where they are supposed to be and will give you approximate information to be able to calculate the approximate time of arrival at the designated destination.

Aged Persons:

With today's pressures of a modern lifestyle where both partners have to work to earn a living we could be faced with the prospect of aging parents who may or may not be in the best of health leaving them vulnerable to sudden episodes of panic when they need assistance. The GP-1800AW can offers several modes of contact to aid in such situations....

A built in SOS button is incorporated within the product so that if a person as an episode when they require urgent assistance this button can be pressed and the unit immediately sends and SMS to either your computer or up to 5 designated mobile phones to immediately notify that something is amiss. The SMS sent will give en exact GPS co-ordinate which can then be used to immediately locate the current position of the person in trouble which can be then passed onto either police or ambulance for speedy assistance. For an additional cost ($5 - $10 per month) the unit can be fitted with a SMS Data card which then allows the user to speak to anyone answering an SOS call to determine if the SMS is genuine or accidental. This facility will not allow long calls but long enough to determine the level of urgency with the SMS.

If you are looking for more updated info on a regular basis the unit can be set to record a GPS location at a predetermined time so that you can view real time tracking on Google maps allowing you to track anyone whom you have concerns about to see where they are traveling to an from, once again the person would legally have to be advised of this situation and the unit would require regular charging to facilitate this style of use (approximately 10 hour intervals). The unit also has a free fall facility whereby if a person falls down a set of stairs or in the case of a hiker in the bush, down a cliff or ravine the unit will automatically send an Alert SMS to advise their carer of the event and giving the exact GPS location of the event.

Remote Location Workers:

As with the benefits of use with Aged Persons the unit can be used by employees working in situations where they are located away from either other employees or perhaps a mode of contact to the supervisor where a situation may arise that they need assistance for medical reasons or perhaps an accident which incapacitates them. If they are within the range of a mobile phone tower then they can press the SOS button to give a current GPS location and if the data card is used they can have a short conversation with the supervisor to advise of the emergency.

If for some reason they are outside the range of a mobile phone tower the GPS co-ordinate is still sent to the respective computer (via satellite communication) or to a mobile phone advising of an emergency which notifies supervisors that some thing could be wrong and gives them an exact GPS location to investigate.

This would also have great benefits to hikers who travel into remote locations should they get into trouble to be able to advise loved ones that something is wrong and give rescue services an exact GPS location to be able to find the missing person. It would not be the first time that a hiker has got into trouble but has been outside mobile phone tower range to be able to call for assistance, some of these situations have had devastating results for the hikers and families.

Plant & Equipment:

Suppose your Organization has invested in a new $200,000.00 piece of earth moving equipment of an item of similar value that is stored and operated off-site or perhaps left in a remote location overnight or for extended periods. Using either the Geo fencing facility or the mobilizing feature of the GT1800AW you can track the whereabouts or unauthorized movement of the equipment at all times. The low cost of the unit makes security for such plant or equipment very cost effective.

Valuables, Pets or Stock:

As with plant and equipment the same features can be utilized or the secure protection of valuables such as Trailers, caravans, valuable stock such as horses, cattle etc or perhaps you have other valuable items that you wish to protect it is a simple matter to attach the unit to these items, keep it charged and it will be traceable at all times, small effort for such a great peice of mind. I was only reading yesterday of a total of 23 tradesman trailers stolen within our local council district in the past 12 months of which only 3 have been recovered, considering that a tradesman may have up to $10,000 worth of equpment in his trailer the cost of a GT1800AW is very small cost to aid in the recovery if items like this are stolen.

Sporting Equipment:

As well as a security device the GT1800AW can be of great benefit to sportsmen and women with its facility to record no only the records of movement along any given terrain but it's ability to record altitude, speed, distance,mileage etc to see either where you have been how long it has taken, what you average speed was to be able to track progress in your training regime or just to record your trip and share it with others on either Face-book, Twitter etc. Not being fully conversant with these social media type systems because of my age full details are available on the manufacturers website as to the methods of recording and uploading the results of any tracking that has been recorded.
